CINCINNATI, Ohio, January 25, 2007 -- Spectrum InTouch, a Spectrum, Inc. company, announced today that it will be donating a new phone system for Hamilton County's Victim Service Center and 281-CARE, two Talbert House programs. This phone system will help the community receive access to counseling and support 24 hours a day.
With the donation valued at over $16,000, these progams will jointly use the new NEC phone system. The system will include a 30-minute battery backup, voice mail, caller ID, and a call center application software package.
The gift was well received. "We thank Spectrum InTouch for this generous donation, said Shauna Miller, manager of 281-CARE and Victim Service Center. "The new system will provide staff with up-to-date technology that will allow us better call connection options and opportunity to improve processes to handle emergency situations. These key features along with the advantage of being more reliable will allow us to provide greater quality service to our clients."
Victim Services offers crisis intervention, prevention, assessment, counseling, support, and advocacy services for any victim of crime and assisted over 4,100 crime victims in 2006. 281-CARE is a 24-hour suicide and crisis hotline that supports individuals in need of mental health counseling or support. This hotline received nearly 17,000 calls in 2006 and monitored approximately 1,200 subscribers through the Tri Health Lifeline, a 24-hour locally monitored personal emergency response service.
The inclusiveness of the gift, which also includes training, installation and special customizations, will prevent the programs from incurring additional communication expenses.
"We are pleased to provide our expertise to Talbert House in their efforts to provide quality services to people in difficult situations," said Trent McCracken, President of Spectrum InTouch "We are embracing this opportunity to support both the organization and more importantly, the people and communities who are reaching out to them for help."
